Perched high up overlooking Zermatt village and the surrounding mountains, the Chalet Hotel Schonegg is accessed via a private tunnel entrance, a few minutes walk from the Sunnegga funicular. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to the village centre and, weather permitting; it is usually possible to ski back to the hotel. The Chalet Hotel Schonegg has truly outstanding views and provides the ideal setting that you would expect from a traditional mountain retreat.
There is a wide selection of room options in either the traditional style or contemporary alpine furnishings. Most of the rooms have a balcony and offer superb views over the Matterhorn and surrounding mountains.
The hotel is renowned for its exceptionally high standard of service and is deservedly proud of the delicious food that can be enjoyed in the spacious guest’s dining room, with its amazing panoramic views, or, in the hotel’s à la carte restaurant, the ‘Gourmetstubli’.
Guests can enjoy après –ski, or a quiet after-dinner drink at the Schonegg bar around the roaring fire.
For those sunshine moments, the terrace is a wonderful place to enjoy the majestic Matterhorn.
